I bought this tape last year, but haven’t needed to use it until today. With all the rain we’ve been having in the northeast, I was checking the gutter downspouts and where one downspout dumped into the PVC ground drain pipe, there was water leaking through the PVC connection…a LOT of water. I didn’t need THAT draining into the soil at my foundation, so I took the white Tommy Tape and in the pouring rain, wrapped around the PVC joint a few times and voila! No more leak! I will go out later and recheck it to see if it’s still in place, but it appears to be stuck for good. 🙂
The nice part about this stuff is it’s not sticky to touch, but it IS very sticky to itself. That’s the only area to be careful with…try not to allow the tape to touch itself, until you have it in place, otherwise, it can be hard to separate. And remember to stretch it slightly when applying and wrap the very end onto itself for a permanent wrap.
Great product…I’m going to buy more and make sure there’s some in my car for any roadside emergencies with hoses, etc.

had heard about this tape & was skeptical. Reviews on HSN ran mostly negative but I wanted to find out for myself. The Tape is wonderful!! By following the directions to the letter, I have had numerous occasions to repair a variety of items, including a leaking pip; the red color even repaired a Humming Bird Bottle, doing double duty!!
It’s important to S T R E A C H the tape while wrapping and to remember that the tape sticks to itself, not the item being repaired.
I give this 5 Stars out of 5

My dual sink had a leak on one side. I read all the reviews and was skeptical, however, thought it would be worth a try. IT REALLY WORKS!!! I stretched the tape and used almost a whole role, and worked!!! I ran hot water for 5 minutes and the tape didn’t sweat or anything. AWESOME — HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Our kitchen faucet sprung several leaks along the side of the faucet due to our extream hard water. I sanded all the hard water deposits and wrapped the entire faucet stem with the tape. Waited 24 hours as the directions say and then turned the water back on and no more leaks. It has been at least a month now and still no sign of any leaks. We have a lot of preasure on that faucet.

A change from the regular electrical tape that doesn’t stick to anything but it self. I used some to make a special “O” ring and it worked perfectly.

I bought the tape for my husband to use fixing pipes and guy stuff. But I used it to wrap around a door knob so I could get a better grip on an outside door. I also use it (the clear one) as a sizer for my rings. I just cut small piece and wrap the underside of my rings. Works great since it bonds to itself. Much cheaper than buying ring snuggies.

If you want a lasting sealent or a wrap this is just what you want. Great product made in America.

Does not work for anything pressurized. It does work for other things they mention. Make sure you understand the limitations before buying

This tape is a non-adhesive silicone tape that adheres to itself. It is not to stop water leaks, especially this under pressure. You meant to buy teflon/ptfe tape or dope tape and you meant to apply it before you put your unions/joints together. Take it back apart dry your pieces off and seal with teflon tape or even better than that would be a good thread sealant by Permatex or Lok-tite.
This tape is great for electrical splices. I do lots of automotive splicing and when I solder the wires together sometimes I forget to put the heat shrink on the wire first and you surely can’t put it on after the wires are soldered together. That is how I found this stuff about a year ago and i have been using it ever since, and actually been paying $7-8 for 10 feet so I’m glad I checked Amazon. It basically replaces the heat shrink wrap and electrical tape all at the same time and it’s tougher than shrink tube and electrical tape.

Wonderful, versatile product…able to repair things other tapes can not. I recently used it to repair a frayed ‘expandable hose’ which would have been impossible with any other tape. Tommy Tape has the unique stretching quality which allows it to expand and contract along with the hose (see photos). I would have had to throw the hose out otherwise.
I’ve used it to repair a slew of other things as well and it’s ability to stick to itself without any annoying sticky adhesives is wonderful.
Highly recommend this tape!

Wonderful product! I have used it on antenna connectors instead of the crap antenna wrap which usually means cutting the connectors off after it been up for a few years. With the Tommy or rescue Tape you just slice it with a knife and you have a brand new reusable connector on your antenna and coax! Great stuff!

I used this tape to repair a plumbing pipe that had come apart under the bathroom sink. That’s been a few weeks–no leaks and no call to a plumber!

I just found out about silicone tape and with me being silicone queen i bought this and I just love it..best deal on amazon I can find. there usually like 6 -7 dollars for a 1 tiny roll ad with this you het a whole 6 pk. I love silicone tape and use it for gripping tools , among other types of grippers for items I have..I recommend to anyone that needs gripping handheld items. well I recommend to everyone to buy ,its just awesome and nice to have around the house. not to mention with silicone being heat distant and can tolerate 1200 degrees with out burning or bathing fire its very handy to have on deck.

This stuff really works. Also, this package/quantity, is a bargain for the price.
Stretching it DOES help it adhere. Time passing gives it more stable bond.
Many uses, for which duct tape will not perform.
Will make a water resistant seal on many surfaces…give it some time to set for best results…varies with circumstances.

So I am modifying my bike for panniers I’m making myself and went though a role of Rescue Tape and didn’t get even half done so I thought I’d get the ‘bargain bin’ 6 pack from Tommy Tape. If you go to the Tommy Tape website there is a overstock 6 pack of random colors, they send 6 random colors of what they are having problems selling, and it adds up to under $3 a roll. All mine were yellow btw, not a big deal, but when I went to use it the tape is think then thin then thick again. This might not be the norm, these were on sale, but I’m taking some stars off none the less. It still works great though so I’m still using it.

I have used this tape for many things including making O-rings for odd ball items. It’s a great self fusing silicone tape.
Tony R (verified owner) –
So I saw the “warnings” about some brands being thinner, but that’s exactly what I wanted. I originally purchased one roll from the local hardware store for about $10 but it was awesome stuff. Used it up as an upgrade to electrical tape. Then I needed more, saw this at an awesome price and assortment of colors all in one pack. It’s thinner than the other brand but for my application it’s exactly what I need. I would positively buy this stuff again from this seller and I do recommend this to RC guys daily! Thx again for just the right stuff;)
